OUR MISSION

1- ... that no pet owner be forced to choose inadequate treatment or euthanasia for their animal because of inability to pay for emergency medical care.
2- ... that people who receive financial help for a veterinary emergency be given the opportunity to return their gift by becoming mentors, by volunteering for VEFM, or by supporting the VEFM fund financially.
3- ... that it is the responsibility of both the local pet-owning and veterinary communities to make emergency care available--that this is not a national responsibility but a grass-roots responsibility.
4-... that the vision of VEFM will extend to communities all across the United States, possibly even the world.

Pet Photo Contest--For VEFM calendar--Give us your Photos and your Stories

We have now filed all the paperwork to be an official corporation in the state of Massachusetts. We are just waiting for official recognition to be able to file for 501(C)3 status. As soon as we formally become a non-profit organization, we want to be all ready to jump into fundraising.

Our first fundraising project is a calendar. The theme is "Your Stories."

Please submit a photo of your pet, along with the story of an emergency that your pet has faced.

Photos will be judged on clarity, composition, and appeal.
Stories will be judged on how well they fit in with theme of VEFM's mission.
The final choices of the winning photos and stories are made at the discretion of VEFM.
Photos and manuscripts cannot be returned and become the property of VEFM.
VEFM reserves the right to modify or edit pictures and stories.

Here's how to submit your entries:

Convert photos to jpeg format (no bmp format, please), with a minimum resolution of 300 pixels/inch, and maximum size 4 inches by 4 inches. Send them via e-mail to http://vefmmail@gmail.com .

Submit your manuscripts in text format or Word format to the same e-mail address: http://vefmmail@gmail.com.

There is no deadline for entries. We will stop accepting entries when we have found 12 suitable pictures and stories. At that point, we will post that entries are closed. You may enter up to 10 times.

Great Idea, I'll come up with something, and help spread the word. You might check out change.org it is an interesting site, and you may be able to work a contributing cause into your effort.

Many thanks to you both for your positive comments. I am hoping that a great calendar will be the perfect way to kick off our initial fundraising drive. Tell everyone you know!
